Super juicy flavor loaded high protein tofu burgers with crunchy lettuce slaw that packs tons of vegetarian protein in just 20 minutes.
When warm weather is upon us, all I think of quick easy fun meals that you can enjoy outdoors. And burgers are to check all those boxes. I love me a big fat juicy burger loaded with tons of flavors but also healthish. I many times end up using store bought vegetarian protein patties. However I do wish these store bought patties have more flavors. Which is the reason I end up making them at home. Burger patties are super easy to make and honestly comes together quickly.

These high protein burger patties have amazing flavors and tons of protein. There are 3 main ingredients that packs tons of protein in these patties, 1) tofu, 2) vital wheat gluten, 3) cottage cheese. These 3 ingredients and just few spices along with herbs will give you juicy flavorful protein packed patties that you will end up making on repeat! You can certainly swap out vital wheat gluten with either oat flour or chickpea flour if you want to make them gluten free.

These patties are so flexible with flavors. I used keema like spice combination for these recipe. You can change up the flavor to anything of your choice! The creamy cilantro mint sauce is also made with 2 key protein sources which are greek yogurt and cottage cheese. And the lettuce slaw adds that much needed crunch to this recipe. The combination keema flavors along with minty yogurt sauce is truly match made in heaven!

These patties are meal prep friendly. You can make a big batch and store in fridge for upto 5 days and freeze them for upto 3 months. They end up being super handy for quick meals. Use them to make quick burgers, wraps, sandwiches, salad toppers, lettuce wrap and so much more! You will find many burger and slider recipes on my blog and they are all just as flavorful as this one.

- In a food processor, process jalapeno, half bunch of cilantro, garlic and ginger.
- Add cilantro jalapeno mix into crumbled/shredded tofu. Along with vital wheat gluten, cottage cheese, and all the dry spices listed under "Burger Patties".
- Mix everything well and form 6 even burger patties. Cook them on skillet/pan/griller with some cooking spray.
- While patties are cooking, mix 1 tsp of chaat masala with sliced sweet onion and sliced jalapeno.
- Once the one side of the patties cooked, flip them and top them with shredded onion jalapeno. Keep leftover shredded onion and jalapeno aside.
- Once the other side of the patties are cooked, flip them again so that the sliced onion jalapenos are facing the skillet underneath the patties. Place sliced cheese on the side facing up.
- Cover and cook it on high/med heat for couple of minutes so that the cheese melts while sliced onion/jalapenos cooked under the patties. Once done, turn off the heat.
Make Cilantro Mint Sauce
- In a food processor process everything BUT yogurt and cottage cheese listed under "Cilantro Mint Sauce".
- Once everything but yogurt and cottage cheese are minced well in the food processor, add in greek yogurt and cottage cheese. Pulse the food processor few times so that the sauce comes to creamy yet a little grainy consistency.
