Tikhi Sev – Spicy Crunchy Noodles

Tikhi sev/Spicy crunchy noodles made out of chickpea and spices. Deep fried to the perfect crunchiness.

Ingredients

  • 3 cup Chickpea Flour
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • tsp Red Chili Powder
  • ½ tsp Black Pepper Powder
  • ¼ tsp Asafetida
  • ¼-¾ cup Water
  • Required Oil for deep frying

Instructions

  • Mix all dry ingredients listed above in a bowl.
  • Add little water at a time to make a soft dough. This is going to be very sticky as we are not using any oil for making the dough.

  • Heat oil in a deep pan for deep frying.
  • While oil is heating up, prepare sev maker by oiling the insides and filling it up with the dough. Walmart has a manual and ebay has stainless steel kitchen press that you could use to make the sev.
  • Once oil is hot, CAREFULLY press the sev directly into the hot oil and deep fry it on both sides until golden brown and crispy.

  • Once fried, let it sit on a paper towel to get rid of access oil. Once cooled down, enjoy it as snack with cup of tea!
