Holy Guacamole
Holy guacamole loaded with fresh onions, tomatoes, serrano chili, garlic, cilantro, lime juice, pink salt and black pepper!
Growing up in India I had never heard of avocados. When I came to the States I came to know about this bland fruit that did not look or taste good to me just by itself. Then I was introduced to this LIFE CHANGING dip, Guacamole and so many other amazing ways to consume avocados! Many times I ask myself, how did I survive 23 years of my life without this amazing power food?!?!
My MIL and SIL showed me how they like to make guacamole. The key ingredients are fresh garlic, serrano, lime juice and cilantro along with sweet red onions and tomatoes. I have learned over time that using least amount of liquid in guacamole results in best texture. There are few tricks I like to use to ensure that. I like to use very hard tomatoes with least amount of juice running out of them, if I do not have those kind of tomatoes, I squeeze the juice out of tomatoes before adding them to the guac or just skip the tomatoes completely. Also using just ripe enough avocados is what you want, nothing to soft or hard. When you smash avocados, do not over do it. Too much avocado smashing can make it runny and brown. Leaving pit in the guac helps it from turning brown. And last but not least, using pink salt instead of regular salt in guac adds this amazing flavor to it!
This holy guacamole is just on point recipe! I am super confident that you’ll love it as much as my friends and family do! Also check out this amazing no chopping required super green guacamole recipe!

Holy Guacamole
Ingredients
- 2 Ripe Avocados
- ½ cup Finely Chopped Sweet Red Onions
- ½ cup Finely Chopped Tomatoes hard tomatoes are preferred so does not loose lot of juice
- 1 Finely Chopped Serrano Chili use it along with seeds and vein for the extra kick
- ¼ cup Finely Chopped Cilantro
- 1 clove Minced Garlic
- 1 tbsp Fresh Lime Juice
- ½ tsp Pink Salt
- ½ tsp Black Pepper Powder
Instructions
- Cut avocados in halves and either make tiny cuts as shown in the picture to make the smashing easy OR just scoop the avocado out in half and smash it in a bowl. To much smashing will turn the avocado very runny and start browning very fast. So smash them just enough leaving some small chunks for good texture.
- Mix smashed avocados, chopped onions, tomatoes (least tomato juice as possible), minced garlic, serrano, cilantro, salt, pepper and lime juice. Taste and add more salt/lime juice if needed.
- Leave one pit of avocado in the guacamole to help it from turning brown.
- Serve your holy guacamole with chips!
