Mango Mastani

Mango Mastani – creamy delicious Summer time mango milkshake made with fresh mangos, milk, hint of saffron, cardamom & vanilla ice cream

If you did not enjoy fresh mangos in summer, did you even do it right?!?! I grew up in India and let me tell you, mango season in India is THE BEST!! My family used to get bags full of raw mangoes and lay them down in single layer on this special warm cloth. Then place some onions on top of mangoes to increase the warmth. Which helps with ripening process of mangoes. The whole house used to smell like haven of fresh mangoes once they all start to ripe!

We grew up in a joint family, that means bunch of kids in one household. My grand ma used to make us sit on the balcony with tub full of ripe mangoes soaked in cold water. She would massage each and every mango to make mango ras. The skin and the pit, us kids got to enjoy!! Hands down one of the precious memories I cherish!!

This Mango Mastani is one of those summer specials I enjoyed growing up! It had to make it’s own space on my blog! It is so simple to make and extremely delicious!! Simply blend all the ingredients in a blander to a smooth paste and serve it. Garnish it with choice of toppings. My fav are vanilla ice cream, chopped nut, saffron, cardamom and fresh mango cubes! If you are not drooling by now, I don’t know what else would make you drool LOL.
