Plain Khichdi
Plain Khichdi, Ultimate comfort food simply made with mix of rice and lentil along with very salt and turmeric.

- ½ cup Tuvar Dal split pigeon peas
- ½ cup Jasmin Rice or Basmati Rice
- 2 cup Water
- ¼ tsp Asafetida (Hing Powder)
- ¼ tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 large Garlic Cloves, sliced
- ⅛ tsp Fenugreek Seeds
- ¼ inch Grated Ginger
- 3 tbsp Ghee
Place rice and dal in Instant pot. Wash it very well and let it soak for 15-20 minutes.
Discard all the water from IP, then add in 2 cups of water and rest of the ingredients listed above.
Put IP on saute mode, bring the water to simmer. Then close the lid, seal the valve. Set IP on high pressure for 5 minutes.
Once cook time is over, let pressure release naturally for 10 minutes and release rest of the pressure manually.
Once IP valve is release, open the lid and enjoy pipping hot Khichdi with lots of ghee and my world famous Gujarati Kadhi!
