Kodiak Onion Pakora Waffles

Crispy crunchy onion pakora flavors without any deep frying, instead make it waffle pakora using Kodiak mix

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Kodiak Cakes Power Cakes Flapjack & Waffle Mix 2 servings, 126 grams
  • ½ Red Onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp Avocado Oil any choice of oil
  • cup Fage Fat Free Plain Greek Yogurt 85 grams of yogurt
  • cup Chopped Cilantro
  • 2 Thai Green Chili, finely chopped
  • ½ inch Grated Ginger
  • ¾ tsp Salt
  • ½ tsp Turmeric Powder
  • ½ tsp Kashmiri Red Chili Powder
  • tsp Cumin Coriander Powder
  • ¼ tsp Garam Masala
  • ¾ tsp Carrom Seeds, Ajwain
  • ½ cup Water, OR, Egg Whites 92 grams of egg whites

Instructions

  • Mix everything listed above to make very thick waffle batter. It will be thick and sticky, which helps get right consistency of the waffles.
  • Once your waffle maker is pre-heated and ready to use, spay cooking oil on both sides of the molds.
  • Divide the batter in 4 equal parts and place in each quarter of the waffle maker. This is assuming you have 4 slice belgian waffle maker. Adjust the amount of batter going into the waffle maker based on the size of your waffle maker.
  • Spay some cooking oil on top of the batter and then close your waffle maker and cook it on setting 4 assuming you have setting 1(low) to 5(high).
  • Once the timer goes off for cooking, open the waffle maker and flip the waffles upside down making sure it fits right back into the mold.
  • Close the waffle maker and cook it again on setting 2 for additional 3-4 min, assuming you have setting 1(low) to 5(high). This will ensure even cooking of waffle all the way through as well as crispy outsides.
  • Once done, simply enjoy with cilantro mint green chutney & Maggi Hot & Sweet Tomato Ketchup, of course with side of chai!
