Falooda
Rose flavored cold dessert beverage loaded with vermicelli, sweet basil (sabza/takmaria) seeds, milk, ice cream, nuts and rose syrup
Servings: 4
- 4 tbsp Basil seeds (Sabja seeds or Falooda seeds)
- 1 cup Boiled Vermicelli Special falooda sed is preferred
- 4 cup Milk
- 2 tbsp Sugar
- 8 tsp Rose Syrup
- 8 scoops Cashew Raisin Ice Cream plain vanilla ice cream would work too!
- 1 cup Chopped nuts and raisins
Prepare Millk
Bring milk to boil. Add sugar to boiling milk and simmer it for 5-6 minutes. Let it cool down and store it in the fridge for 2-4 hours to make it cold. Once the seeds are socked, they will be 4-5 times more in quantity.
Prepare Vermicelli
Cut Vermicelli or falooda save in 1-2 inches length if they are big long strings.
Boil them in water for 5-6 minutes.
Once boiled, drain the hot water out and rinse them with cold water to stop the cooking process. Keep it aside or in the fridge.
Assembly
Place 4 serving glasses or mason jars, place 1 tbsp of boiled vermicelli and one tbsp of socked basil seeds at the bottom.
Add ½ cup of prepared sweet milk.
Add one scoop of ice cream. Now do the second layer of the same topping, 1 tbsp of vermicelli, 1 tbsp of basil seeds, 1 tsp of rose syrup, ½ cups of sweet milk and one scoop of ice cream. You can serve falooda with just one layer of everything, I like to do 2 layers! Top falooda with chopped nuts and raising.
Serve it cold immediately!
