Diwali time during India is truly a whole experience that you do not really feel else where in the world. Shopping for new clothes, fireworks, gifts etc. Cleaning out the whole house. Making of all the nastas aka dry snacks like mathiya, chorafadi, chakri, gathiya and so much more.
Being outside of India for almost a 2 decade, I still feel homesick during festive time. And one thing that surely brings me some joy and makes me feel like home is the food. I have not gotten to the point where I make mathiya chorafadi at home but I surely make the following during Diwali time. So that my kids also feel the festive feels I felt growing up.
