Comforting Indian Foods

Comforting Indian Foods

People have many different comfort foods they go back to. Be it pasta, pizza, soup or curries. For me it has to be my mom’s dal fry along with creamy dreamy dal makhani and saucy rajma. I am linking all these comforting Indian foods below for you guys to try and hopefully cherish the same comfort I do!

mummy's dal fry

Extremely comforting, perfectly flavored and textures dal fry made with assorted lentils and basic spice blend.

Dal Makhani

Creamy whole black beans (whole urad) and red kidney beans (rajma) curry simmered in butter, cream and very subtle spices on low heat.

rajma

Red kidney beans cooked in onions & tomatoes based gravy along with fresh spices, whole & ground dry spices is one of the most comforting Indian dish!

All the above pair really well with perfectly fluffy Jeera Rice simply made in IP or naan/kulcha. For condiments I love serving Lachha Onion Salad, Indian chopped salad with Papad as well as Indian style Pickled jalapeรฑos.

I hope you find these top tier comforting recipes helpful. If you end up making any of these recipes, leave me a comment blow or tab me on Instagram @myvegetarianroots. I would love to get feedback from you!
